Flight History

M-ANIN (formerly N882) was bought to fly regularly for business and pleasure all over Europe. The aircraft has performed this function perfectly regularly flying direct from its home base to France/Germany/Denmark/Sweden/Norway/Finland/Italy. The most commonly taken flight is home base to Newcastle. The plane has done no training and the average flight time is around 1 - 1.5 hours. The aircraft has been flown by the owner for 99% of the hours flown.

New Engine

At the second annual a small piece of metal was found in the sump gauze filter. This turned out to be from a cam-follower breaking up. It was decided to fit the best available zero-time engine instead of end up with a repaired engine with 500 hours already on it and opted for Superior Air Parts Millenium Engine. The Millenium engines comes with a better standard of crankshaft balancing, investment cast through hardened cylinders and a five year parts and labour warranty.

New Millenium Engine

In March 2006 the annual was performed by the Socata Factory in Tarbes, France. An in flight prop-balance was performed which has further smoothed the aircraft in flight. All non-mandatory but advisable work was carried out regardless of cost.

MSB569

MSB569 applied to the engine even though it is a Superior Airparts Millenium engine. Only two items of Lycoming manufacture remained in this engine, the crankshaft and the crankcase and MSB569 applies to the crank. Under the full 5 year warranty of the Millenium engine, Superior changed the crankshaft in December 2006 completely free of charge complying fully with SB569.

Scheduled Maintenance, AD's and SB's

All known AD's and SB's have been complied with. The propeller was overhauled and zero timed in May 2008. Recently, the magneto was overhauled, a new starter motor fitted (after the original was found to be 12V instead of 24V) and the undercarriage powerpack and actuators were overhauled after poor operation was found at the annual. The last Annual was performed in January 2010.

Under the Manx Registry regulations the maintenance procedure has to follow the Manufacturers recommendations which have all been complied with in full.

Manx Aircraft Registry

The aircraft was put on the Manx Aircraft Registry in August 2007. Previously the aircraft had been on the American register with the number N882.

Reason for sale

The owner has land at home on which a STOL aircraft could land. Unfortunately, M-ANIN cannot land safely on the 1430ft grass available so reluctantly the aircraft is to be sold and replaced with a STOL aircraft suitable for operation from the grass strip.

M-ANIN is one of the best equipped TB20GT's around with nothing to fit to comply with all the latest or pending regulations allowing full international IFR operation.
